Emergency Weather Information

The weather in South Carolina can be unpredictable, especially in the winter and early spring. Sometimes school is canceled, but sometimes the school day is delayed one or two hours. We do not want children waiting in the cold for a bus that will not come, and we do not we want children left at the school when no staff are there.

If there is a chance of ice or snow, Latino parents are requested to listen to the Spanish radio station WCEO (840 AM) and/or to watch the local news. Local television stations report constantly on school cancellations and delays. In addition to verbal reports, these stations display written lists of delays and cancellations of school districts and schools at the bottom of the television screen.

PARENTS AND CHILDREN:

The class that saves and turns in the most Capri Sun pouches by May 10, 2010 will win a PIZZA PARTY!!

This is to help the school earn money to purchase items the teacher needs for the children  . There will be boxes set in every classroom of the school labeled with that teacher’s name on it. We do ask that you cut the tops off of the pouches and rinse them out to reduce the stickiness and so we won’t attract bugs. These will be picked up and recorded every Friday.

Remember this is to help the school and the winning class will WIN A FREE PIZZA PARTY AT THE END OF THE YEAR!!!

We are also collecting the Box Tops of Education for the school. These can be found on ALL GENERAL MILLS CEREALS, Huggies Diapers, Campbell’s Soups, Hamburger Helper, Ziplock bags, Juicy Juice boxes, Hefty Trash Bags, and Pillsbury dairy products, etc.

The school gets .10 cents per top turned in. Again this goes toward money for the students. We are going to make this a competition as well. The class that turns in the most box tops will win a FREE PIZZA PARTY at the end of the school year as well.

Just turn the box tops in to your child’s teacher in a Ziploc bag with the teacher’s name on the front of the bag. These will be counted every Friday and a record will be kept.
